My body has been through a lot in 4 years. It has gotten pregnant 4 times, delivered two babies, and has been making milk for the past 43 months! Needless to say, with all the wear and LITERAL tear, my body has been through, it has changed quite a bit. Even when I got back down to pre-pregnancy weight after my first pregnancy, none of my clothes fit the same way. So over the past few years I have basically had to build up a brand new wardrobe. Unfortunately shopping with toddlers and babies is NOT the easiest. And this is why I’m thankful for Stitch Fix.
What is Stitch Fix?
Stitch Fix delivers hand-picked clothes JUST for you, to your door. You can try on the clothes in the comfort of your own home, when the time is convenient for you. Gone are the days of squeezing into a dressing room with your big, bulky, double stroller. Gone are the days of rushing to make a decision about jeans while your baby screams and your toddler throws his juice everywhere. Gone are the days of trying to figure out WHEN you will have time to take a trip to the mall. Gone I tell you. Gone. Yes, Stitch Fix has changed my shopping life for the better.
How Does it Work
First you will visit the Stitch Fix website and create an account. If you sign up here, you will get $25 towards your first “fix”. More on that later…
Next, you will fill out a profile to give your stylist a better idea of who you are and what you like to wear. This includes sharing what sizes you typically wear, and a variety of other information including preferences for fit/cut, style, and price.
You can also include a link to your Pinterest account and pin inspirational outfits to give the stylists an idea of what items appeal to you the most.
You will also choose whether you want fixes sent automatically on a recurring basis (you choose the frequency), or if you only want fixes sent on demand. Everything is customized to YOUR needs and wants.Stitch Fix will then ship you a box with five items of clothing. They will provide you with a tracking number as soon as the box is shipped.Once your box arrives, the fun begins! You can now try on each piece, at your convenience, and decide what you want to purchase.
How Much Does It Cost?
You only pay for what you keep. If you don’t like any of the items, you simply return them in the prepaid provided envelope, and you will not be charged a penny. Shipping to and from is always free.
However, when you schedule your fix, you are charged a $20 styling fee. That $20 will be applied to any clothing you decide to keep. If you sign up for your account via my referral link here, you will instantly receive a $25 credit, which means your first fix will be completely free to try. No harm in trying right?? If you decide to purchase all five items, you will receive 25% off your entire purchase. Plus your $20 styling fee will be deducted from your total bill.
During checkout you will have an opportunity to review each piece of clothing to provide feedback on style, price etc. You will also have the option of exchanging for a different size. You will also have an opportunity to provide feedback on the entire transaction as a whole. Providing feedback allows your stylist to create a better fix for you next time.
I have received 5 total fixes. Here are just a a few articles of clothing/shoes/pieces of jewelry that I have purchased in the past thanks to Stitch Fix.
My Most Recent Fix
Two weeks ago, I decided to order a “fix”. When I placed my order, I told my stylist that I was going to NYC the weekend after my box was scheduled to arrive. My personal stylist saw my note and looked up the weather forecast for that weekend in NYC to make sure she included weather appropriate attire. This personal touch made me feel so special!
When I opened the box, I found five articles of clothing as well as advice on how I could wear/pair each item.
I loved that most of the items could be worn together. Here are four of the five items worn together (pants, top, jacket and necklace):
The pants were my favorite item. I love the pop of color and they were SO stretchy and comfortable.
The shirt had really cute sleeves that were revealed when I took the jacket off.
The fifth article of clothing was a dress that also paired nicely with the necklace and jacket.
I ended up purchasing all five items (receiving the 25% off discount) and I have already worn each item several times. The pants, top and necklace, when paired with a cardigan make for a nice casual and comfortable outfit to wear to work.
I have my next “fix” scheduled to arrive on May 10 and I can’t wait to see what is inside!
